World Birding Center - Opening in June 2005, McAllen's World Birding Center, one of a series of 9 Centers throughout the regions, will be located at Quinta Mazatlan. Quinta Mazatlan was a privately owned 8 acre estate until a few years ago when the City purchased it. It is now undergoing renovation to become a birding destination within the City limits. It will feature walking trails; bird, butterfly and dragonfly gardens and ponds; a small conference room, and ongoing nature programs. World Birding Center

McAllen Convention Center - The $36 million Convention Center that features 175,000 square feet, 16 breakout rooms, and a nearby retail center is now open. For an inside view click here.
